BEYOND WORDS to be performed in Trenton

3/22/2012 - The Solo Flights Festival at Passage Theatre will serve as host to Bill's latest show, Beyond Words during the festival ion March 22 and 25th, 2012. Passage Theatre is in residence at Mill Hill Playhouse 205 East Front Street, at the corner of Montgomery Street, Trenton (full story)

Bill's Appearing at Out of the Loop Fringe Festival

3/9/2012 - Bill will be performing his newest work, Beyond Words, at the Out of the Loop Fringe Festival at WaterTower Theatre in Addison, Texas on March 9, 10 and 11, 2012.

The 11th annual festival showcases 20 performances in addition to a few lobby acts. It will take place Mar. 1-11 at the Addison Theatre Centre in Addison, Texas. Single tickets to all events go on sale February 14 at noon. Festival Passes, now on sale, include one admission to each festival event and are $65. WaterTower Theatre subscribers receive $10 off each festival pass. Individual ticket prices vary for each event and range in price from $10 to $15. (full story)

IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING goes to Athens, Ohio!

2/26/2012 - Ohio University School of Theater visiting Professor, Bill Bowers will perform his one man show: It Goes Without Saying for one night only. Compared to the work of David Sedaris, Claudia Shear and Augustin Burroughs, IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING is a uniquely crafted autobiographical tour-de-force in which Bill shares funny, heartbreaking, and unbelievable true stories from his career as an actor and mime, and his life-long exploration of the role silence plays in all our lives.

12/9/2011 - Bill will be appearing on December 9, 2011 at the Historic Asolo Theatre in Sarasota, Florida in a benefit performance of IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING, benefitting the FSU Asolo Conservatory. "Rethinking Our Town"

1/5/2011 - Bill's production of Our Town, done in October 2010 at Kean University, was used as the jumping off point for an article covering the show and its position within the International Conference on American Drama. Julie York Coppens, in the January 2011 issue of Dramatics, quotes Bill --speaking as a true mime -- as saying "What I really found fascinating about Our Town this time, as a director, were all the things that aren’t said." 'It Goes Without Saying' Awarded 'Best Production' at the United Solo Festival!

11/22/2010 - Bill's production of It Goes Without Saying, recently presented at the United Solo Festival, was honored as Best Production. Other awardees included Bob Brader for Best Script for Spitting in the Face of the Devil; Austin Pendelton for Best Directing for CLUTTER: I'm Saving My Life and It's Killing Me; and Patty Staco, who won the Audience Award for In My Shoes.

10/20/2010 - Bill's production of Our Town at Kean University in Union, NJ is closing on Halloween, so get your tickets! The show runs October 23, 28-30 at 8 p.m. October 17 and 30 at 2 p.m. On October 29 at 6:30 p.m. there is a pre-show discussion with the production team. (full story)

9/22/2010 - A wonderful letter was written to the Fresno Bee about a performance Bill presented back in July. It reads, in part: " do not have the words to express what an amazing show that was. I found myself blinking into awareness that I was watching a show and not actually living it. I have seen a lot of world class theatre in London, New York, and Chicago and I can say without a doubt that I have never been so engrossed, so moved, so connected or so blown away as I was by Bill Bowers tonight." Bill is Keynote Speaker at the Georgia Theatre Conference

10/15/2009 - Bill is honored to have been asked to present the keynote performance/address at this year's Georgia Theatre Conference. On Saturday, October 17, at 2 PM in the Springer Opera House (Emily Woodruff Hall), Bill will perform selected pieces from his show Under a Montana Moon, and then talk about his career and development as a successful performer/director/teacher. Earlier in the day, at 9:30 (same location) Bill will present MIME: AN INFORMANCE as part of the conference's workshop schedule. (full story)

Bill Bowers named as First Eminent Artist

12/13/2008 - Bill Bowers is a professional director, an acclaimed Broadway actor and an international mime sensation. Now he's adding another title to his impressive resume: The University of Wyoming's first Eminent Artist-in-Residence. Bowers recently accepted UW's second state-endowed professorship in the creative arts funded by the Excellence in Higher Education Endowment, which was awarded this year to UW's three fine arts departments -- art, music and theatre and dance -- on a rotating basis. 4/17/2004 - WASHINGTON, D.C.--As part of their free arts series, Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival presented two solo mime artists and master teachers together on stage for the first time. Daniel Stern, Director of Training at Dell'Arte School of Physical Theatre in CA, and Bill Bowers, resident artist, teacher, actor (former "Zazu" in the Broadway company of THE LION KING). Each gentleman performed half of a one-hour presentation of their original pantomime creations. (full story)
